Activities at Gyllene Hornet
At Gyllene Hornet, there is plenty of space for play, activities and spending time together. The whole family can swim, play games, exercise or challenge each other to different activities, both indoors and outdoors.
For families with children, there is plenty to do right at the hotel, which is especially convenient when the weather does not quite go according to plan. Take a dip in the pool, play billiards or table tennis, build an obstacle course in the sports hall or sit down together for a board game.
Large pool & sauna
Our indoor pool is 20 metres long, with plenty of space for both swimming and playing. For younger children, there is a smaller shallow pool where they can splash and play.
There are separate saunas for women and men next to the pool and during summer you can relax on a sun lounger outside the pool area.
Sports hall for play and activities
Gyllene Hornet has its own sports hall with plenty of space to get moving. Here you can play floorball or basketball, exercise or build an obstacle course where the children can burn off some energy.
The sports hall is also used for various exercise activities and classes.
Table tennis, billiards, games & playroom
Challenge the family to a game of table tennis or billiards or sit down together with one of our board games. In the hotel lobby and lounge, you will find comfortable seating areas, billiards, games and a large-screen TV.
One floor down, there is also a playroom and a smaller billiard table for our younger guests.
Mini golf in summer
During summer, the whole family can challenge each other on our mini golf course just outside the hotel. Clubs at the ready – who will be the family mini golf champion?
Outdoor activities
When the weather invites you outdoors, there is even more to do around the hotel grounds. Play a match on the tennis court or challenge family and friends to a game of boules.
In winter, balls and rackets make way for fun in the snow. When conditions allow, sledges and traditional Swedish kick sleds are available for winter days outdoors.
Hike directly from the hotel
You do not need to take the car to get out into nature. A hiking trail passes right by Gyllene Hornet, taking you through Tällberg and further into the forests surrounding the village.
Bring the family along for a walk, balance across wooden footbridges, discover insects and other small creatures along the way and see who can find the biggest tree in the forest. Maps of the hiking trails are available at reception.

If you would like to explore more during your stay, there are plenty of activities and places to visit both in Tällberg and around Lake Siljan. Walk through the village, visit the animals at Erkers Lantgård, enjoy a waffle at Dalmål Kafé & Hantverk or head out on a longer family day trip in Dalarna.
